November, 2024 –Pioneer in Canada’s Nordic spa industry, Scandinave Spa is proud to celebrate twenty-five years of excellence and affirm its leadership in a world where the search for well-being has reached new heights. Its journey is a tribute to its ambitious vision and quest for innovation.
Scandinave Spa was founded in Mont-Tremblant in 1999 by a group of visionary entrepreneurs, driven by the dream of creating a relaxing area near the ski resort. Inspired by the age-old tradition of Scandinavian baths, renowned for their physical and mental health benefits, they built an authentic space perfect for relaxation in a quiet and peaceful environment surrounded by nature. This unique concept quickly won over the region’s local and tourist markets.
“In 1999, our intuition led us to invest in what was then an emergent market: wellness through thermotherapy,” says Vincent Damphousse, owner and Executive Chairman of the Board for Scandinave Group. A quarter-century later, our gamble has paid off. Our company has become a key player in the local economy, generating numerous jobs and supporting a vast network of suppliers.”
Scandinave Group has enjoyed sustained growth, opening three other destinations across Canada: Blue Mountains (Ont.) in 2006, Montreal (Que.) in 2009 and Whistler (B.C.) in 2010. Since then, the company has continued to invest in its own spa facilities to meet expectations of its growing clientele. The development of the team’s skills combined with the integration of a new, user friendly, reservation system is now essential for managing the day-to-day operations efficiently and for planning the organization’s future expansion.
“From our humble beginnings with a single establishment, we now bring together nearly 400 employees and massage therapy professionals, and welcome hundreds of thousands of guests every year. This growth is a clear reflection of the vitality of the wellness industry. We look forward to announcing our next destination soon, which will reinforce our leadership position in Canada,” explains Steve Arsenault, President and CEO of Scandinave Group.
